Re: 2018 Summer Recreation Programs
The past summer showed a decline in registrations for our summer recreation programs. We
offered a total of 7 classes. Of those, three classes were cancelled due to low enrollment or no
enrollment. There was a total of 36 participants in our summer recreation programs.
The new "Art in Action" program was quite a success with 16 participants (ages ranging from 6
to 13) from Scandia, Marine on St. Croix, Forest Lake, Shafer, Lindstrom and St. Paul.
There was a total of 16 participants in the two "Camp Adventurers" camps. There were four
participants in one tennis camp; the second camp was cancelled due to receiving only two
registrations.
I will be meeting with Camp Lakamaga staff in mid-December to discuss 2019 summer
recreation programming. I am hoping we will offer the "Art in Action" program again next
summer and have reached out to the camp director.
