Public Works Staff Report – October 2018
Roads and Right – of – way
Mowing – ROW – Done for 2018 – volunteer tree mowing starting
Culverts – List to be cleaned out has been addressed – roots in the
culvert at 23497 Meadowbrook Ave. N. – need to replace next year
ROW – Shouldering: 288 additional tons of material to support the
roads, dumped materials – TV, garbage, metal, tires, plastic play box
Patching – Pomroy N off Hwy 97 – areas breaking up
Trees - 6 down across Maxwill – hanger on Mayberry – PW – cut back
to get traffic through / contractor removed safely
Signs – Road reconstruction areas – Installation in progress
City signs – PW/Fire - Done & Hockey rink sign in progress
Fleet – Snow plows, wings, and sanders back on the plow trucks –
summer equipment winterized
Gravel roads: last grading completed
Construction – culverts marked
MNDOT ROW – mulched up and ready for next year
LHL – pulled up sediment and rock dams 2 X – erosion mat and
seeded
Sewer – Water:
September ‘18 - sewer samples were taken at Bliss, Inspection of
wells – AE, Uptown
201 – September monthly DMR completed
201 - 18526 Langley – alarm = tripped relay- 10-10-18, 18605
Langley ct. – pump pulled – home demo’d
4 pvc vent caps and pipes repaired
Pump readings taken – Bliss draw down rates adjusted
Uptown – no issues
Washington Co. monthly sewer report completed
Uptown - Monthly water meter readings completed
25 Gopher One call requests
Parks:
Monthly safety checks done on playgrounds
Tennis Courts: Leaf blown three times
Mowing: Ballfields, City Hall last short mowing
Lilleskogen: FSP did some volunteer removal of invasive trees, will
mark off road edge along Oakhill to deter snowmobilers for riding in
the park
WIP: Park sign down - Still in retro fit mode with trail updates
Hay Lake: Picked up two branch dumping’s and one grass clipping
dumping, replacement of burnt out bulb,
Skate Park equipment put away for the winter
Rink: cleaned of leaves, pot hole in front of gate to open rink filled –
Zamboni serviced and ready for the season
Bench policy passed council approval
Requestor to donate the bench has been contacted with the policy
information and is in talks with the rest of her family about the
donation

Toilet leak of stopper at Comm. Ctr.
