Engineering Updates 2/17/2015
Engineering
• Continue to work with Public Works to address current road needs with the 2015 Seal Coat and
Crack Filling Project. Seal coating for the City Hall parking lot will be included in the project
plans and specifications as well. In the 2014 the City completed the crack filling in the City Hall
parking lot.
• The City Council will be considering a resolution for, "Approving Dissension in Settlement
Agreement in the Department of Natural Resources and White Bear Lake Lawsuit."
➢ The result of this resolution will be a collaborate effort of several communities to
continue discussions based on proven science and completed studies thus just trying to
move policy forward without facts.
• The City Council will also be considering a "Resolution Supporting the Reconstruction of the
Interstate 35 / Trunk Highway 97 Bridge."
➢ When a project of this location and magnitude are completed, benefits are provided to
a regional area. Improvements to this interchange will provide improved safety and
shorter commutes for Scandia residents that use this interchange. Also showing
regional support will enhance the project's ability to obtain grant funding, legislators
support, and other project funding avenues that would be much harder to obtain when
being pursued by one municipality.
• Metropolitan Council draft 2040 Water Resources Policy Plan (WRPP)
➢ The draft policy plan is currently out for review and public comment.

municipalities and industries to high water -quality standards at affordable and fair
taxes, work with partners to preserve the quality and quantity of groundwater and
surface water, better integrate the Council work in water supply -surface water -
wastewater.
