Re: Discussion on City Council Committee appointments
Background:
It is typical for the Council to review City Council committee and commission appointments at
the first meeting of the New Year. Due to expiring terms there are vacant positions that need to
be filled and potentially there could be changes to the existing appointments.
Issue:
Who should be appointed to any vacancies? Does the Council want to change of the liaisons to
committees/commission?
Proposal Details:
Economic Development Authority
Bob Hegland served as a City Council representative on the Economic Development
Authority board. Does the Council want to make an appointment to the EDA board?
Councilmember Steve Kronmiller serves on the EDA board. Does the Council want to
change that appointment?
Wastewater Advisory Committee
Jim Schneider served as a City Council representative on the Wastewater Committee.
Does the Council want to make an appointment to the Committee?
Councilmembers Chris Ness serves as the Council representatives on the Wastewater
Advisory Committee. Does the Council want to change those appointments?
Planning Commission
Councilmember Chris Ness serves as the liaison to the Planning Commission. Does the
Council want to change that appointment?
Parks & Recreation Committee
Jim Schneider served as the City Council liaison to the Park and Recreation Committee.
Does the Council want to make an appointment to act as liaison to the Committee?
Acting Mayor
The Council will also need to appoint an Acting Mayor at the Annual Meeting (January
15th) and may wish to discuss possibilities/express interest at this time.
