Lilleskogen Sub- Committee
The PRC recommended, at the February 4 meeting, that a small sub -committee be formed to 1.) work
on the details of the Lilleskogen Conservation Partners Legacy grant re-application and 2.) update the
strategic action plan. The proposal went forward to the city council and was approved at the February
city council meeting.
The sub -committee met on February 19. Karen Schik provided helpful and detailed information
regarding background, process, response to DNR feedback, and guidance on the grant process. I then
met with Neil Soltis and city engineer Ryan Goodman of Bolton and Menk, providing the sub -committee
information as input to the grant application. Bolton will provide a draft of the re-application to the sub-
committee for review prior to the electronic submission of the application on March 18, 2019.
1 also contacted Kathy Varble at the DNR regarding timeframes. A grant issued in 2019 has until spring
of 2022 to use the funds. Also, the grant is looked at 'more favorably' if the requested has more than
the 10% minimum match for the request.
