Re: Selection of Chair and Vice Chair for March 2019 through February 2020
Background:
Ordinance 91 provides that the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation
Committee are appointed by the Commission from among the members of the Commission, subject
to approval by the Council, for a term of one year. Furthermore, the bylaws of the Parks and
Recreation Committee provide that election of officers will be held at the first meeting of March of
each year.
The Chairperson appointed for the 2018-2019 term was Terry Gorham. The Vice Chairperson
appointed was Dustin Hegland.
Issue:
Who should the Parks and Recreation Committee recommend as Chair and Vice Chairperson for the
time period from March 2019 through February 2020?
Proposal Details:
Any Committee member would be eligible for the positions.
Fiscal Impact:
None.
Recommendation:
Make a recommendation on Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for 2019-2020 to the City Council.
The recommendation will be considered at their March 19 meeting.
