7 Proposal from Bolton Menk for Community Water Study February 19, 2019 Mr. Neil Soltis, City Administrator City of Scandia 14727 209th Street Scandia, MN 55073 RE: Community Water Study – Fire Station Area Dear Mr. Soltis: In response to your request, we have prepared a scope and fee estimate for the work to conduct a study including the tasks shown below to determine the feasibility of a community water system serving the area as outlined in the attachment that aligns with previous studied area for the community drainfield. We propose to complete the following tasks: • Using available LIDAR information, review the existing topography and identify the potential limits of the service area. • Calculate flows for average and peak water usage for proposed area. • Review infrastructure needs including, watermain, well(s) and evaluation of existing well for suitability, wellhouse, water storage needs (tower), and need for water treatment. • Prepare preliminary cost estimate for the ultimate system. • Prepare figures repesenting a general layout of the proposed system. In order to evaluate the existing well we assume the City can supply the pumping records, existing well information that includes pump curves, and water quality information of recent testing results. Fees We estimate the cost to complete the above described work to be $9,700.00. We propose to bill the City on an hourly basis with a not to exceed limit. This estimate does not include any on-site field investigation work to be performed at this time.
