Re: Chair and Vice Chair Appointments
Background:
Ordinance 91 provides that the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Planning Commission
are appointed by the Commission from among the members of the Commission, subject to
approval by the Council, for a term of one year.
Issue:
Who should the Commission recommend for chair and vice chair for 2015?
Proposal Details:
Christine Maefsky was the Chair in 2014 and Jan Hogle the Vice Chair. There are no limits on
how long a person may serve in those positions. Any member of the Planning Commission
would also be eligible for the positions.
Fiscal Impact:
Compensation for the Chair is $300/quarter. The Vice Chair receives the same $250/quarter as
the rest of the commission members. These expenses are included in the 2015 budget.
Recommendation:
Make a recommendation on Chair and Vice Chair for 2015 to the City Council. The
recommendation will be considered by the Council at their February 17th meeting.
