Re: Green Step City Award and Signs
Minnesota Green Step Cities program has recognized Scandia for the city’s environmental
sustainability efforts. At the League of Minnesota Cities annual conference on June 27th, the city
received an award for advancing to become a Step 3 city.
As part of this recognition, GreenStep Cities will give Scandia one highway sign. We have the
option of purchasing additional signs at $52 each. Scandia can put them onto the existing
"Scandia" signs, or we can pay $200/sign to have MNDOT attach them.
GreenStep would like to present the city with its Level 3 Award at a council meeting and give us
our signs when we have decided the number and procedure.
Thanks to Scandia community residents, including the Friends of Scandia’s Parks and Trails who
have contributed to the environmental sustainability efforts of the City.
