Re: Hire Office Assistant/Recreation Program Coordinator
Background:
The Council approved staff to beginning the process to hire a new offi ce assistant in August
following the resignation of the previous office assistant. Five applications were received. The
Deputy Clerk and Mayor Maefsky interviewed three candidates on August 28th. The position is
budgeted for 21-28 hours/week and performs a wide variety of office functions to support City
staff and the Park and Recreation Committee.
Issue:
Should the Council hire Katherine Koschak as Office Assistant/Recreation Program Coordinator?
Proposal Details:
After completing the interviews, staff is recommending that Katherine Koschak be hired as the
Office Assistant/Recreation Program Coordinator at a pay rate of $16.10/hour. Ms. Koschak
has experience in office administration, and an interest in community development and
recreation.
The pre-employment background check found no issues or concerns. If approved for hiring, Ms.
Koschak would begin work on Monday, September 16th.
Options:
1) Approve hiring Katherine Koschak as the Office Assistant/Recreation Program
Coordinator at a pay rate of $16.10/hour.
2) Approve hiring Katherine Koschak as Office Assistant/Recreation Program Coordinator
at a different pay rate.
3) Direct staff to continue search and review other applicants.
Recommendation:
Option 1.
