PW Staff report: July 2019 report 8-5-19

Summer Part-time employee:
Steve is now working his 32 hours per week. We should be able to catch up on mowing and weed
whipping next week to bring the parks and grounds back to the preferred standards. National Night
out will be on 8-6-19. Steve has been working hard to prepare the City Hall grounds for the event.
Lilleskogen:
Staff has contacted Prairie Restorations and Minnesota Native Landscapes to request quotes to
initiate the removal of the invasive species and begin using the grant. Both companies have been
very slow to respond with quotes or any further information.
Lighted Ballfield:
Preparations are being done to be ready for the men’s fast pitch softball tournament . New base sets
Hay Lake Pavilion: Water
Washington County Hist. Soc. has not yet responded.
SHIP Grant – Cycling Scandia – Warming House:
Bike racks and the Fix-It station have been delivered. We will be installing them after the clearing
from the storm is completed. The bills and receipts have been submitted to the SHIP grant providers
for reimbursement.
Bone Lake Park:
The project was completed in one day. Staff thanks Patti and the Bone Lake Association for their
efforts and drive to complete the initial steps of an informal path through the park.
Warming House:
The new skate board ramps and equipment is assembled and up. The PW staff did a great job of
putting the ramps together. Two days after the set was out there were users.
