Re: Information in Regard to Scandia-Marine Lions’ 4 park bench donation
Background: The Scandia-Marine Lions are donating four – 6’ park benches to the City of Scandia.
Details: The Scandia-Marine Lions approached the Parks & Recreation Committee with an offer to
donate park benches to the City of Scandia. The PRC selected four – 6’ park benches to fit the
needs of the city. These are galvanized steel, hunter green benches with arm rests at either end
and “Scandia” punched out in the frame of the backrest. The benches will be installed by bolting
them into concrete pads starting in the spring of 2020. The City of Scandia will order these benches
from Pilot Rock. The cost of these 4 benches, with the added fees for customizing the seats, adding
armrests, the anchoring screws and shipping is $3,236.00.
Fiscal Impact: The Scandia-Marine Lions are donating the full cost of the benches. They have also
indicated that they have funds designated to offset the costs associated with installment in the
future.
