On behalf of the Scandia Economic Development Authority, I wish to share with you, and the
members of your committee, why we support the funding and construction of the Gateway Trail
The Gateway Trail presents an exciting opportunity to enhance quality of life, advance tourism,
encourage local commerce, and improve non -motorized connectivity between Scandia, William
O'Brien Park and its neighbors within the region.
Our organization recognizes that this funding request is of its considerable value to the economic
growth and enhancement of our community. We encourage you to strongly consider providing the
necessary financial support to make this critical corridor, intended to ultimately connect the Twin
Cities Metropolitan Area with Duluth, a reality.
