ADDITION Website Redesign UpdateJ) L SCANDIA Staff Report Date of Meeting: August 5, 2020 To: City Council From: Brenda "Bee" Stignani, Office Assistant Re: Staff Report, Website Redesign Update Below are the links to the latest design version of our new website prepared by Revize after receiving feedback from the City Council and Tourism Committee. This version is approved by the Tourism Committee and recommends City Council's formal acceptance. However, due to a suggestion in scheduled staff meetings to move forward in the next phase, Revize added the Tourism Home Page which has not yet been discussed by the Tourism Committee. Initial Setup/Meetings/Designer Selection (1-2 weeks) 2. Discover and Design Approval (6-8 weeks) 3. HTML Development (2-4 weeks) 4. CMS Enabling (5-6 weeks) 5. Quality Assurance/Accessibility/Custom Development (3 weeks) 6. Sitemap Development and Content Migration (3-4 weeks) 7. Training, Beta Site Review (1-3 weeks) 8. Go -Live After Revize is notified by staff of a formal acceptance of the design, any later design related changes will be billed at $100/hour rate. Design related changes include colors, fonts, layouts, etc. There are 14- 20 weeks forecasted before Phase 8 to Go -Live. This is November 16th- December 28th. The City's current web hosting contract with GovOffice ends December 31, 2020. Staff recommends formal acceptance of this current design, even though the Tourism Committee has not yet discussed the optional use of the internal page designed for tourism due to the time constraints. The committee approved this current design layout with the understanding that there would be as many internal pages dedicated to tourist topics as they requested. After their last meeting, staff inquired if Revize could make an internal page that would look like a homepage. Revize quickly made this new page available and TC does not meet again until August 13tH Use of this special internal page is not required. However, any changes to the design (colors, fonts, layouts, etc.) would incur a $100/hour. Staff recommends approving this design and the TC can decide if they would like to use this specialty page or not, with no additional fees. A complete redesign of the website is included in the hosting fee if the City continues a contract past April 30, 2023. The Tourism Committee would have time to work out details to refine a special interior page, or to go in another direction all together at no additional cost to the City. Options: 1. Approve the current version of the website design by Revize. 2. Not approve the current version of the website design by Revize. Recommendation Option 1
