4.b) Letter from P. & S. WilliamsRECEIVED

Date: October 5, 2015
We have received information that a variance and a change of zoning from
residential to agricultural are being applied for by Greg Amundson; this request
appears on the Planning Commission Agenda for October 6th as item 4.b. We
strongly object to this request.
We purchased our property at 16763 205th Ct. in all good faith that the area would
be dedicated to open spaces and would be retained as aesthetically and
environmentally positive. Approval of the requested variance would negatively
affect both the aesthetic and environmental value of the properties in the Ekdahl
Estates and would ultimately have an effect on the economic value of these
properties. Machinery entering the proposed building from 205th Ct. would result
in more rapid deterioration of the road surface; the size and type of the proposed
building will have a negative effect on the aesthetic appearance of the community as
one approaches the homes built along this road and as people travel Highway 95,
the St. Croix Scenic Byway. The residential nature and beauty of the neighborhood
would thus suffer greatly.
Denying this request is essential to retaining the integrity and commitment to and
appreciation for the beautiful land upon which the residents of Ekdahl Estates live.
We would like to see this land and space protected for the benefit of future
generations. When one variation is approved, others will follow shortly thereafter.
Please deny this request.
