Conclusions/Trends:
The start of the July around the 4th dealt with many complaints of intoxicated people along the
river from Log House landing to William Obrien. Around the holiday weekend also raised many concerns
with fireworks and loud parties. Continued calls for suicidal individuals and disturbances at the area
group homes have been an issue. Meetings with management have been conducted to lessen the calls
but little progress has been made. Further help through the county public services is the next solution.
During an August weekend stretch two suspects in a silver minivan stole mail out of over 30
mailboxes only taking important info and leaving the other mail in neighboring boxes. No suspects at
this time only video footage. Post office is aware and is working with the WCSO on the incident.
Reminder to collect the mail every day and if possible don't have important documents sent through the
mail or get a locking mailbox.
No real issues with burglaries or vandalism trends over the past months occurred . Fraud and
scam reports are always an issue. Suspects continue to call elderly individuals hoping for them to believe
the scam. The IRS scam still comes up weekly leaving a message that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against
the homeowner and to call a number.
National Night out had a great turn out at the Community Center at the beginning of August
having close to 200 community members attending. The city FD along with the PW, WCSO WPT unit and
K9 unit all attended to meet the citizens. Taco Days were a great success leaving minimal issues that the
Sheriff's office had to deal with. The baseball game, parade, festival, and entertainment went off
without any real issues. Over the weekend of taco days a deceased female was located in the St Croix
River by the old swing bridge. It was determined that the female was a Suicidal Female out of Chisago
County.
