9.d1 Lift Station pump rplcmt- request for use of FEMA funds Staff Report Date of Meeting: 12-15-20 To: Mayor, City council From: Adam Hawkinson, Director of Public Works Re: FEMA reimbursement fund use – Lift Stations #2 Pump #2 Background: In March of 2019 there were rains and melting conditions that created flooding conditions in the Bliss Addition area that overwhelmed the 201 Sewer system and in doing so caused one pump to fail in lift station #2. Pump #2 was temporarily replaced by a used motor 6 years old. The motor needs to be updated to ensure reliable pumping. The Funds secured by the Director of Public Works and provided by FEMA, are to be used to restore this facility back to its pre- disaster design, function and capacity (in-kind) within the existing footprint. The FEMA contract is included as a separate supplemental document. Issue: Repairs need to be completed on the 201 Bliss system and the FEMA funds are now available. The Director of Public Works seeks approval to proceed. Proposal Details: The Director has secured quotes for the project. Quotes are as follows: WWW Goetsch: $5,896.00 for a Hydromatic motor, freight, and installation – 2 year warranty Quality Flow: $5,690.00 for Barnes motor, freight, and installation – 2 year warranty Fiscal Impact: $5,896.00 to $5,690.00 would be the total cost of this project. FEMA funds would be used. After these funds are used, there would be additional funds available to put toward the 201 system. Options: 1.)
