Because of the increased labor costs due to the statutory increase in minimum wage, we have had to increase our charges for animal control impound services. These new prices will take effect on January 1, 2016. This might be a good time for you to consider adjusting your city's impound fee to owners who claim their animals. This is the fee we collect for each city to help cover the city's costs for animal control officers. There is a wide range of fee amounts charged by individual cities. The current lowest amount is $45, and the highest (first time) fee is $90. Some cities have an increasing fee for repeat offenders. Please do not hesitate to call us to change your city's impound fee, or to discuss the matter in general. Your current city impound fee charged to the animal owner is Nothing else has changed in the animal impound services agreement between Hillcrest Animal Hospital and your city.
