8.f) Public Work October Activity ReportOctober Activity Report, Public Works Department
Except for a couple of signs that we have had to hold off on, we have completed installing
the new street signs in place. Now we have begun removing all the old signs. We will than
haul them away for scrap. Due to the new policy from MNDOT, we were also able to
relocate many of the I.D. sign on County 97 and Manning Road.
We have completed all the Ditch mowing for the season Throughout the city
Septic tanks that were on a list to be pumped this season due to high levels of sludge have
been completed.
This year, (every 3 years) the city was required to turn in water samples measuring the
lead and copper levels from various taps around the city. This was done and sent to Pace
Analytical in Virginia, Minnesota.
We are still doing some land leveling and grooming at Lillyskogen Park.
We have done a grading on Pilar and Paris Avenue since the ditching was completed for
the season. I would like to get one more grading in before the winter freeze.
Williams has completed an online course through the University of Minnesota on Gravel
Road Maintenance and Design.
The new SCADA system has been working well. All Public Works employees have the
systems App installed in their phone. They have also learned how to use the Phone system
in case of a situation.
Public Works has only had to deal with 2 small trees and 1 pump on a septic system. It has
been repaired and functioning properly.
Thank You
