Re: Log House Landing Ramp Project
Background:
The 2016 Capital Improvement Plan includes funding for improvements to the Log House Landing
Boat Ramp. The Carnelian -Marine -St. Croix Watershed District Board has approved a resolution
authorizing the Board of Managers to enter into a written agreement with the City to share in the
funding of the project.
Issue:
Based on the terms of the agreement does the City wish to enter into an agreement in order to
proceed with the project?
Proposal Details:
The preliminary cost estimate from the District is $33,587 without engineering
Capital Improvement plan includes $20,000 for the project in 2016.
The National Park Service has committed $15,000 towards the project
The District has agreed to a 50150 cost sharing arrangement of the cost after all grants and donations
are accounted for.
Options:
1) Authorize a written agreement between the City and the Carnelian -Marine -St. Croix
Watershed District based on the terms of the District resolution
2) Propose modifications to the terms as approved by the District
3) Remove the project from the Capital Improvement Plan
Recommendation:
Option 1. — Assuming that the project is not removed from the Capital Improvement Plan,
authorizing the written agreement will start the process of getting a final agreement that would then
require approval of the District Board and the City Council.
