Re: Chair and Vice Chair Appointments
Background:
The City’s Code of Ordinances, Section 30.08 Advisory Committees and Commissions, provides
for the Planning Commission to appoint a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Planning
Commission from among the members of the Commission for a 1-year term, subject to
approval by the Council.
Issue:
Who should the Commission recommend for Chair and Vice Chair for the period from February,
2021 through January, 2022?
Proposal Details:
Dan Squyres was the Chair in 2017-20 and Travis Loeffler the Vice Chair in 2019-20. There are
no limits on how long a person may serve in those positions. Any member of the Planning
Commission would also be eligible for the positions.
Fiscal Impact:
Compensation for the Chair is $300/quarter. The Vice Chair receives the same $250/quarter as
the rest of the commission members.
Recommendation:
Make a recommendation on Chair and Vice Chair for 2021 to the City Council. The
recommendation will be considered by the Council at their February 16th meeting.
