Bears for children who have cancer. Logistics and Promotion Work with Bee Stignani to set up a link on the City of Scandia’s website to track the acts of kindness. We would ask for an age group and the act of kindness they performed. Five days a week, Bee will post one act of kindness on the City’s website so people will get ideas and also to keep the contest front of mind. She also will post five days a week on the City’s website the total acts of kindness so residents can see how close we are to our goal. The City of Scandia will post on the City’s Facebook page and encourage other to repost on their Facebook page. Our goal is to get 100 reposts so the idea spreads. We also will post on Scandia NextDoor. The City of Scandia will make 200 2 ¼” buttons that will read Scandia’s 1,000 Acts of Kindness. We will make them free to local businesses, but also encourage people to donate to the food shelf and the Green Grocer Program in Scandia with a money jar by the button display. The Lions could use its big sign in front of the Annex to promote Scandia’s 1,000 Acts of Kindness. The sign could be moved either near Apothecary’s Daughter, Scandia Market & Mercantile, by the can collector at Cenex, or by the fire station to get more visibility. The sign also could change locations each week for increased visibility and to reach people who are driving different routes/roads. The City of Scandia will issue a press release to The Country Messenger, Forest Lake Times, St. Paul Pioneer Press, to help promote the City-wide endeavor.
