Agritourism Enterprise—Draft Definitions and Performance Standards
The Planner updated Draft Ordinance 166 (attached) based on the Planning Commission
discussion and recommendations on January 7. Changes include:
Revised text and new table identify permit requirements and criteria for each type of
permit
Added an item used in other City permits that states that "Private, "by -invitation -only"
events such as weddings, memorial services, family reunions, birthday parties, or similar
private events are not considered as "events" that are part of the Agritourism use, and
are not counted in determining whether a zoning permit is required for this use in the
"Permits" section
Added optional Annual Operating Permit (AOP) and requirements—these are similar to
the requirements for an AOP for a Rural Events Facility
Removed the requirement for a Grading Plan. The Commission determined that this
duplicates other City requirements if new structures are proposed.
Added a table identifying the minimum site size and criteria
Identified setback requirements
Revised text to clarify that 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. hours of operation apply only to events that
require a permit, and that no more than one permitted event may be scheduled on any
calendar date.
Revised sign requirements to reference current ordinance. Did not repeat all text due to
length and to avoid needing to change multiple ordinance sections in the future if the
sign requirements change.
Updated requirements for IUP termination and City reviews of Agritourism Operations
The Planning Commission may review the changes and continue the discussion of this item at
the February meeting.
