Subject: RIVER ISSUES
Hello,
This letter is to share concerns about river issues soon to be discussed by the City Council. My wife and I will not be able
to attend as our arrival for the Summer season is not until May 26th.
Our formal address is 21565 St. Croix Trail North, 55073. The actual location is just North of where Hwy 97 meets Hwy
95. Our cabin is only 50ft from the rivers edge.
With close proximity and a easy view of the river we notice all that passes.
Our concerns are speeding boats and subsequent wakes created, and late night fisherman who utilize seriously bright
halogen lights which beam up and into our cabin. They seem to prefer to fish very late, appearing at 9 or 10 pm and
fishing as late at 1 AM. They move very slow staying in areas for sometime all the while talking very loud (sound carries
very well on water), hooting and hollering, while I suspect drinking lots of beer. This is our number one complaint.
There is another type of boat which we do not know the name of which is driven holding the tiller while standing at the
rear. The motors are high above the water allowing them to go into the very shallow areas (bays) and race round and
round. These boats are excessively noisy, like hot rods on water. Again annoying and disturbing the peace.
Thanks you and glad the river issues are being discussed.
