5.a Setterholm Good Neighbor Proclamation
SCANDIA GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, respecting, caring for, and helping others is a hallmark of the American character,
and central to how we as a community live; and
WHEREAS, respect and care for and from neighbors creates a more sustainable, resilient
community and makes Scandia a great place to live and be; and
WHEREAS, Scandia throughout its history has been the beneficiary of being a community of
Good Neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Scandia’s natural resources, parks and trails are highly valued and key to its
character; and
WHEREAS, Dale and Michelle Setterholm have supported those natural resources in many
ways; and
WHEREAS, Dale and Michelle helped the City in maintaining both the Swedish Monument
and the Wind in the Pines Park area in the summer of 2020 and through their efforts the
image of both park areas was enhanced; and
WHEREAS, the consistency of their volunteering and their clear communication with the
Public Works Department was outstanding; and
WHEREAS, Dale has shared his expertise by leading unique geologic tours through Scandia
with Cycling Scandia; and
WHEREAS, Dale and Michelle have in multiple ways demonstrated the qualities of being a
Good Neighbor and have been nominated to receive this Award,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Scandia presents the Scandia Good Neighbor
Award to Dale and Michelle Setterholm in recognition and appreciation.
