Re: Memorial Park Bench Package Options
Staff collected details regarding options to select park benches to be purchased by residents as honorary or
memorial benches to be installed at Lilleskogen Park. PRC members anticipate 6 benches would meet the
need at this park.
• Natural Area Bench Policy Standards (vendor used to establish these standards is no longer in business)
o Back supports required
o Arm rests optional
o Frames must be durable metals
o Seating structure may be the same material or composite or treated wood
o Brown color tones
o Installed to prevent movement
o Located in shade when possible
o No closer than 200 feet
o ADA accessible benches must have a 6-foot radius of area on one side of the bench
o Plaques must be made of nonferrous material maximum size 2”x 5”
• Plaques are available from different sign vendors to mount onto any bench, typically $75-125 each,
few are small enough to meet the current policy standards .

Rock from the Channel Bench collection. These are 6’, perforated steel, green and have arm rests.
The word “Scandia” is punched out in each backrest. The base price was $521 per bench. The total
cost was $809 each with arm rests, personalizing and shipping.
• If online shipping estimates were available from the 5 vendors included as examples in this report, the
fee ranges $150-300 per order.
• Home Depot carried commercial benches available for free, local pick up – no brown benches available
to follow current park policy standards.
