Here is our idea...... We have a Vintage snowmobile event as part of Vinterfest on Saturday, February 6th, IOAM- 4PM. The location would be on the West side of Big Marine Lake where there is a couple options for accesses, mainly the 185th street access. The people coming to the event could park on the lake. We would have a big tent where we would sell food and the money raised would go the the Big Marine Lake Association for their fight against invasive species in the lake. We would ask a couple of the Lions to help or give us advice with the food as they are familiar with the food inspector/cooking for the public. We would also have a bon fire for warming. It would be free to display snowmobiles for the contest and we would have 1 st, 2nd and 3rd place and maybe have a couple different categories, depending on the turn out. The judging would be at IPM. The ride would start at 1:30 and go around the lake along the approximately 10 mile long shoreline. We would have signs showing where to start. Once we get the word out to the people on the lake we are expecting a few bonfires along the trail and the Vets Camp Cantina will be open along the trail too. For more information on the idea contact: Mark & Linda Marotzke, Dan Lee, Rich Burton or Doug Salmela. We are open to suggestions or ideas and anyone else joining in that is excited to get a snowmobile event going as part of Vinterfest. Thank you, Linda Marotzke I
