7.a) Staff Report-Vinterfest Button Design Contest Judging STAFF REPORT Date of Meeting: December 7, 2015 To: Parks and Recreation Committee From: Judi Negus, Office Assistant Re: Vinterfest Button Design Contest Judging Background: At the November 2, 2015 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, Zauner shared a draft entry form for the Vinterfest button design contest. Zauner suggested the top three entries all receive a button with their artwork. Zauner presented the entry form to sixth graders at Scandia Elementary on November 12, 2015. Committee members agreed the first place winner would receive a Wild sweatshirt donated by Rasmussen. Zauner picked up the entries on November 25 from Scandia Elementary. Committee members agreed to judge the entries at its December 7, 2015 meeting. Issues: What entry should the Parks and Recreation Committee select as its winning entry? What will be the second and third place winning entries? Proposal Details: Zauner will be bringing the Vinterfest button design contest entries to the meeting. Recommendation: Review all entries and make a recommendation which will be the official Vinterfest 2016 winning button design.
