Re: Meister’s Bar and Grill Authorization to Sell Beer at Taco Daze, September 11, 2021
Background:
State statute allows the City Council to authorize holders of a retail on-sale liquor license to sell
alcohol at a community festival or at any convention, banquet, conference, meeting or social affair
conducted on the premises of a sports, convention, or cultural facility owned by the City.
Issue:
Should the City Council authorize Meister’s Bar and Grill to sell beer at Taco Daze?
Proposal Details:
Meister’s Bar and Grill has applied for a temporary off-premises sales liquor license to sell beer at
Taco Daze on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Taco Daze is an event sponsored by the Scandia
Marine Lions and will be held on the community center grounds.
A beer tent will be set up near the cold storage building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 11,
2021.
Fiscal Impact:
$25 application fee has been paid.
Options:
1) Authorize Meister’s Bar and Grill to sell beer at Taco Daze on September 11, 2021 at the
Community Center as described in the application received August 13, 2021.
2) Add conditions to the approval.
3) Do not authorize Meister’s Bar and Grill to sell beer at Taco Daze, September 11, 2021.
Recommendation:
Option 1.
