From: Brenda “Bee” Stignani, Office Assistant
Re: Appointment to Fill Unexpired Term on Parks and Recreation Committee
Background:
Emmy Lundeen resigned from her appointment on the Parks and Recreation Committee on August 31,
2021. Lundeen’s term expires on February 28, 2026. Staff posted on the City’s website and social media
sites, requesting applications to be submitted by September 17, 2021. One application has been received
to consider.
Proposal Details:
Kimberly Johnson submitted an application and resume to fill the vacancy on the Parks and Recreation
Committee. While Johnson is not currently a Scandia resident, her 30-year past residency and continued
involvement in the Scandia community at Gammelgarden, Scandia Elementary School, and Lions Club
make her a strong candidate to consider for appointment. Staff has confirmed that residency in Scandia
is not a requirement for appointment to this advisory committee.
Options:
1. Appoint Kimberly Johnson to fill the vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Committee.
2. Do not appoint Kimberly Johnson to fill the vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Committee.
Recommendation:
Option 1
