Re: Winter Programming Recap
Background:
This year we offered three skating programs:
Pleasure Skating (K-6th grade)
There were 20 students registered for this program at a rate of $25 for the six -week class. As in
past years, Matt Rasmussen volunteered to supervise the class. Weather permitted all classes
to be held as scheduled. On two occasions, Staff had to supervise the class in Rasmussen’s
absence.
Learn to Skate (for beginner and advanced skaters)
There were a total of 30 students registered for these programs at a rate of $59 for the six-
week class. Katy Herman was the contracted instructor for the Learn to Skate programs. Due
to poor weather conditions on one week of the six-week program, Scandia Elementary
cancelled afterschool activities, which included these skating programs. Staff attempted to
extend the classes an additional week. But, due to wea ther, the ice rink closed on Friday,
February 19.
Staff is quite satisfied with the continued interest in these popular sk ating programs that fill up
quickly.
