BACKGROUND
In early 2020, members expressed a desire to receive a summary on actions taken by the City Council on
items reviewed by the Planning Commission. Planning and Zoning requests (such as variances, code
amendments, etc.) start with review and recommendations made by the Planning Commission, and then
are approved or denied by the City Council.
RECENT ITEMS
Variances & PUD
Two requests were reviewed by the Council at their October 19th meeting:
Planned Unit Development (PUD) request from the Scandia Heritage Alliance for the Arts and
Heritage Center project
o This request was approved by the City Council
o The Planning Commission recommended approval of the request at the October 5
