Re: Function of the Parks & Recreation Committee
Background: The primary functions of the Parks & Recreation Committee relate to the long range
planning, development, and capital improvement planning for the City's Parks and trails.
Attached are maps of the City's Park & Recreation areas, Park system Plan, and Bicycle routes Plan
that were included in the 2005 comprehensive, parks, trails, open space, and recreation plan. Also
included are descriptions of the parks with issues, and opportunities identified, These are being
provided as a resource to help you understand the scope of the Committee's primary responsibilities
and a starting point for discussions on the Recreation element of the City's comprehensive plan
which needs to be completed by December, 31, 2018.
