However, I am opposed to building an industrial solar complex along Oldfield Ave. Simply put, it should not be allowed due to the impact on neighboring residential home rural scenic views. Large industrial solar complexes have their place. Examples being at airports, industrial complexes and along stretches of state highways. They do not belong in residential neighborhoods. Like many families in Scandia, we bought our land in Scandia because of the beautiful scenic views. We built our family' s home facing the wooded bluffs to the east. Purposely positioning the home to maximize rural scenic views. Imagine our dismay to learn someone would cut down trees and grade acres of land flat to install 40 acres of fenced in industrial solar structures. The neighborhood has met with representatives of GreenMark. They failed to provide formal written plans or renderings of how they would screen the views from Oldfield or the residential homes. Keep in mind, the proposed installation is on a hill and in some areas a bluff. Most dissapointing is they plan to clear cut trees on some of the land to maximize land use. All I'm asking for is the City of Scandia to protect our beautiful scenic views. Don't allow the countryside we have built our residential homes around to be graded flat and trees clear cut for a fenced in industrial solar complex. Due more than protect the city. Protect our rural Scandia community. Regards, Steve Yehle
