Scandia received $441k in American Rescue Pi - ne CITY OF SCANDIA
According to the City Administrator, the conditions placed on the use of this money could only allow it to be
used for Internet Expansion or our Sewer Utility.
The money cannot be used to offset tax levies. Internet Expansion has been budgeted through 2024, As such,
funding Internet Expansion with this money would NOT be appropriate! There is a lot of money being made
available for Internet expansion from County, State, and Federal sources. Money to help address sewer issues
are extremely scarce.
Without these funds being properly appropriated, we will see our sewer rates DOUBLE in the next 4-5 years
per the city administrator.
