on the January agendas every year as it was unintentionally overlooked in 2021, current committee
members will reach out to some local business owners to gauge an interest in applying to serve on
the Tourism Committee, Cammilleri will reach out to Brent Peterson at the Washington County
Historical Society and discussion will continue at the next meeting to consider expanding to seven
members or staying at five.
Wayfinding Signs – Cammilleri reported Public Works Director Fisher is making progress, it is
reasonable to look for up to two signs being recommended to City Council for installment in 2022.
Future Steps –
Moratzka presented a concept to organize a community wide garage sale, with proceeds supporting
the Scandia Elementary Educational Fund and Lions’ scholarships. Discussion emphasized the need
to contact other known garage sale organizers to identify if other groups would coordinate sales or
work to avoid conflicting dates – Bone Lake and Pilar Road in particular. Committee members
unanimously support this concept, and requested Moratzka and Dickens continue to gather more
information before making a formal recommendation to City Council.
