City of Scandia Parks and Recreation Committee Tuesday, February 15, 2022
A special joint meeting of City Council and the Scandia Parks & Recreation Committee was held on the above
date at the Community Center and on Zoom.
City Council Attendance: Mayor Christine Maefsky, Heather Benson, Jerry Cusick, Steve Kronmiller and Patti Ray.
Scandia Parks & Recreation Attendance: Terry Gorham (Chair), Greg Zauner (Vice Chair), Kimberly Johnson,
Dustin Hegland.
Also in attendance: City Administrator Ken Cammilleri, Public Works Director Charles Fischer and Office Assistant
Brenda “Bee” Stignani. Presenters: Amanda Arnold, Chris Silewski, Casey Byers, Ryan Goodman, Kate Elynck,
Chris Janson and Claire Mickelson
The meeting was called to order by Maefsky at 5:30 p.m., a quorum was present.
INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR Scandia’s Parks and Open Space Planning Project
Maefsky called for each candidate to make a presentation. The four published questions were asked to each
candidate, one each by Maefsky, Benson, Gorham and Cusick. Ray followed up with an additional question to
identify each candidate’s most creative, or ‘out of the box,’ idea in a park. It was announced that City Council
nd
would discuss and possibly consider action on selecting one proposal at the March 2 Council Work
Session. The Park and Recreation Committee will call a special meeting before that date to discuss and
consider a recommendation to the City Council.
