5.b) Staff Report-Summer Rec and Farmers Market UpdatesSC 11y DIIA Staff Rom Date of Meeting: July 1, 2013 To: Park and Recreation Committee From: Judi Negus, Office Assistant Re: Summer Rec Programs and Farmers Market Updates Agenda Item #: 5.b) Summer Recreation Programs We offered 17 classes for our Summer 2013 Recreation Programs. To date, two classes have been cancelled due to low enrollment. (Skateboard Camp had two registrations and Session 1 of Cleat Kids had two registrations and did not meet the minimum enrollment of five registrations.) The first two sessions of the tennis class was held last week. There were four students registered for the early session and five students for the later session. I received positive feedback from the students who shared they enjoyed the class and instructor. One parent shared she appreciated having programs offered locally. I am sending out e-mails soliciting registrations for upcoming classes, as well as providing the information on Facebook. Farmers Market To date, we have 23 vendors who have signed up to sell goods at our Wednesday evening Farmers Market. I have received positive feedback from the vendors about the attendance and sales. This year, we started a weekly drawing that is sponsored by each of the vendors providing a donation. I am posting results of the drawings on the weekly posting on Facebook.
