I informed the City Council we were making progress with the butterfly garden. Janie
was working on the flower layout and pricing etc. Tom Tripplet commented the Lions
would help with the money.
I told them we are still working on getting the gravel for the parking lot.
Then came the scout project. I listed off the things that he needed to get done yet.
Thomas came up to talk about his project. He still didn't have volunteer worksheets
done, among other things. The numbers for gravel needed on his newly developed sheets
weren't consistent. The mayor asked if I had seen the info before. I hadn't seen it. He
wanted to know why we approved it without all the numbers in place and made a motion
to table it. Tom Tripplet stood up and said he would do everything he could to get the
money necessary to get it done. After some discussion, they approved it. It looks like we
can't rush scout projects through regardless of their time constraints. Future scout
projects will have to be completed before passing on to the City. Lesson learned.
