Re: Office Assistant's Report
Please help spread the word! Press releases went out seeking applications from people
interested in serving on the Parks and Recreation Committee, Planning Commission and
Wastewater Advisory Committee. The terms of two Parks and Recreation members, one
Planning Commission member, and one Wastewater Advisory Committee member on the
Anderson/Erickson system will expire on February 1, 2014. Applications are due by
December 20.
At the November 19 meeting, the City Council approved the new Learn to Skate program to
be taught by Katy Herman. The draft promotional flyer was approved by Forest Lake
Community Education to be sent home with Scandia Elementary students. In addition to the
promotional flyer, I will be promoting the skating programs by submitting press releases and
providing information on the City's website and Facebook.
Four ice rink attendant positions and one ice rink maintenance worker position have been
filled. Orientation for the ice rink attendants was completed on November 25.
The warming house interior has been painted by participants of the Sentence to Serve
program. It will need a second coat at a future date to be determined.
Since our last meeting, several donations have been made or been committed for
Lilleskogen. Landmark donated the survey, Interstate Companies donated excavation
work, Critical Connections plans to donate partial evasive eradication, and Tiller will be
donating sand and gravel. Roger Peterson plans to donate bulldozing work.
