Re: Updates
• Mike Lynch confirmed Saturday, October 1st for the rescheduled Vinterfest Star Watch
Party. Small confusion addressed, Gammelgarden has booked a party also on Taco Daze,
Saturday, September 10th. Mike thought it was PRC’s rescheduled request. There are now
two Star Watch Parties booked in Scandia in two months!
• St Croix Festival Theater has confirmed Art in Action camp in Scandia, July 18-22nd.
Registration is open now and is posted on the city’s Park Recreational webpage. More
prominent notices on social media will we posted at a later date.
• Staff confirmed with the City’s insurance carrier the situations when instructors of Parks
& Recreation classes must provide their own liability insurance coverage and not. Sub-
contractors need to provide their own, but hired staff and volunteers do not. PRC may
pursue the concept of the Share Your Skills program, knowing that this would not be a
burden on someone hired as a program coordinator or volunteer who teaches. Staff will
prepare any recommendations to Council for any hiring or contracting.
• The Bone Lake Park Naming survey is created, staff is waiting for technical support to
embed it in the City’s website before promoting it on social media.
