1. Call to Order
2. Joan Benner is resigning from committee with last meeting this month as she is moving out of
the City of Scandia.
3. Agenda changed to add Scandia farmers market—Approved as revised
4. Minutes approved from June 6,2011
5. a.Hay Lake Park/Eagle Scout Project presented by Jake Otto
Proposal to design and build a 24 ft. bridge over drainage ditch to connect parking lot to Hay
Lake School as well as paths to connect
Dan Lee and Mike White were voted to represent the Park Board representatives along with a
City rep and Lions members and Friends of Scandia Parks for a committee to review plans for
Hay Lake Park.
Monday,July 18 at Hay Lake 7 pm is annual Friends picnic- rain location is Community Center.
b. City Council Meeting-Trail plan was approved by council. Brochures are available.
c. Lilleskogen Project Update-Watershed district and the Washington Conservation District are
both expressed interest in possibly funding through a grant or cost sharing with water quality
related projects in the park. A proposal could be worked on over the winter.
d. Summer Recreation Programs-Laurie reported no programs have been cancelled, some have
been run with low numbers such as comic book camp and %day camp. Registrations are being
taken for some August programs. Geocaching and tennis need more sign up.
6. a. Lighted Ball�eld Project Update- Kyle has decided not to pursue Eagle Scout project for
scoreboard at Lighted Ball Field.
The Ballfield Association of the Lions gave$1100 to fund the grills and sign. Sally found grills for
$100 each at Fleet Farm. There is also$2500 available for park signs including the ballfield.
Sally will report on grills and signs at the next meeting.
b.August volunteer dates-Ann will check with Alex about clearing trees at the next volunteer
date-to see if he is able to clear trees before then.
c.Taco Daze/Dodgeball Tournament-flyers were reviewed and approved. Volunteers are
needed for referees.
d. 2012 Draft of budget-events$2000-Vinterfest and Taco Daze, park and rec revenue comes
mostly from property taxes.

Trail plan discussion included completing sidewalks in town-Olinda, south of 209`h to ball field-
and south of Olinda Lane N to baseball field. Proposal estimate was$79,000 for these two
sections.
Listing for monies set aside for Zamboni replacement/repair was removed.
e. Farmers Market-Gammelgarten is interested in donating the parking lot to start a Farmers
Market. Money would be needed for ads,vendors would need to sign up and could include
food and live entertainment. Money is available for events in the budget.A subcommittee
including Matt and Sally with help from Laurie was formed to discuss and organize.
