FLOW DATA
Background
The charts within this presentation represent the recorded daily flows
monitored by the Public Works Department. Public Works is able to
document flow through the use of the SCADA system which sends
lift station information to the Public Works Building and field
monitoring in the Uptown system.
All of the daily flow measurements use pump run time multiplied by
the flow rate of each pump. Flow rates are determined through
draw down testing which measures how long the pump lowers
water level and calculating in the factor of water flowing into the
wet well. Although not entirely accurate it is standard practice
when no flow meters are installed in the system.
Flow monitors in the Bliss system give Public Works a much better
understanding of actual flows as long as the monitors are calibrated
every year by a qualified technician.

Summary
Uptown System: operating near 50% of the permitted gallons per
day *
A/E System: operating near 70% of the permitted gallons per day
Bliss System: operating near 50% of the permitted gallons per day
* According to the permitted capacity of the system. Bolton and Menk have provided guidance
to operate the system below the Washington County permit average daily flow.
