Subject: Donation Letter Follow-Up
At last night’s Council meeting, the question of follow-up to the Donation Letter sent out to local and regional
business was brought forth. Council is seeking staff to follow up on the letters which were sent out to over 100
entities.
Originally, the letter was sent out to 148 entities included in the Master EDA List. The number of calls to make
is undoubtably a lot for our small City Staff to manage. Staff is seeking the PRC to assist in contacting each
business and divided among the PRC as a whole reduces the span of time which these calls can be completed.
City staff will take part in the calls as well but the list below could be divided by the PRC.
A brief template should be made for making initial contact to standardize the delivery method. Further
information requested during the call can be referenced in the donation letter.
As of this date, three donation confirmations have been received for a total of $1,400 of the original $25,000
goal.

Hello, I am _________________ with the City of Scandia Parks and Recreation Committee.
We are in search of donations to help fund additional amenities to better serve the visitors of a
new playground set to break ground this year. Our goal is to raise $25,000. There are four
sponsorship levels from Benefactor to Gold Level, but any donation will have a lasting impact
on our community. If you reach any of the sponsorship levels your name or business will be
recognized on a permanent sign at the dedication of the new playground.
