MSA Comments GorhamFrom: Terry Gorham Sent: Monday, July 11, 2022 5:57 PM To: b.stignani <b.stignani@ci.scandia.mn.us> Subject: My comments regarding the survey Hi – Can these go in the packet for review? **** Suggest numbering the questions? A map of the parks and the bike trails for reference be useful, imbedded in the survey. ? - Which parks/facilities do you and your household visit most often? Include "tompteskogen" aka Bone Lake Park ? - Which parks and recreation amenities/facilities do you currently use? Add 'Pickleball courts' Also add 'Walking trails' Also add 'Biking amenities, e.g., repair station ? - How interested are you in the following park amenities? Add walking trails, picnic areas Under the trail system, I think many folks may not realize these are actual designated biking vs hiking trails. This is where a map would be useful. ? - Please rank your comfort level on each type of trail. Change or include the word 'safe' ?- The 'How often do you utilize the trails within/connecting to Scandia?' to me implies a biking trail. Again, without a map, may not know what these are. These questions seem to mix the trails we control and the state parks. E.g., do we control the off street/ separated trails? We should be clear regarding the parks under our charter vs county or state parks. I would like to see 'open spaces' addressed in some fashion. E.g., the parks on Orwell are natural open spaces, we need to ask if park property like those or for example Tompteskogen (Bone Lake) should remain natural spaces with no real infrastructure development.
