1. Scandia Vinterfest—Saturday, Feb 2 1-4 pm. Discussion of plans for the day,
there was a suggestion that we sell Scandia Sweatshirts-proposal with details is
needed. Spanish Club will sell hotdogs and baked goods in Community Center
for their fundraiser. Sleigh ride is lined up. Marty is organizing sledding- getting
permission from the church.
2. Approval of P&R Committee Minutes of Nov 15,2007 Alex/Joan
3. City Council Report Dave reports Lillesko�en proposal for$12,000 with
SRF/Critical Connections was approved by City Council (with one no vote).
Tubin�day at Trolihaugen was approved for Dec. 29—fliers will be sent home
with students and posted, preregistration required by the 26`n
4. Wind in the Pines update- Karen and Mike worked hard on buckthorn removal,
more needed. Great River Greening (GRG)trail work was delayed for multiple
reasons- their contract is only through 3-08. The plan is to extend the contract
deadline to 7-1-08 —City Council approval will be requested for this. The IOOp
trail development proposal was $18,00-20,000 by GRG for trail construction with
steps- they are open to having volunteers assist to reduce the cost. The decision
was to go ahead and apply for grants for this and Lilleskogen restoration at the
same time.
5. Scandia open gym Saturdays were a success last year. Mike will help set up
again this year. The cost is $32/hour for the janitor at 4 hours minimum x 4
weeks. Mike will write a proposal for Anne get to Mike H to present to the Lions
for a grant to cover these expenses. Dates- 4 Saturdays in January-Jan 5, 12, 19,
26 9am- noon.
6. Soccer field ideas- BMX track was discussed as a ball field will not be possible
there.
