1. Review and aonroval of minutes-Minutes from previous meeting were unanimously
approved.
� 2. Lions Park planning- A presentation was made by�V1s.Thering of the,�Vletro�olitan _ ��:�.F���
Design Center regarding its free park project planning service. They showed and �bma:University of Minnesota
discussed several examples of past work,and disUzbuted documentation outlining the
service.
The following suggestions were discussed:
• GPS mapping of the site
• Gathering feedback from stalceholders(possible survey)
• Vegetation survey(Karen offered assistance)
• Keeping existing trails
• • Wefland restoration
• Exotic species management
• Use as an educational resource
Karen motioned to formally request the Design Center's services,and Jan seconded the
� motion. The motion passed un�uiimoush�.
3. Cloverleaf Bike Ride u ate-Jan provided a summary of the event,wluch yielded 38
riders and received positive feedback. The following suggestions were discussed:
• Possible need for police representation(not required by the County)
• Charging of a nominal fee
• Free-will donations
4. Summer proQrams-Marty McKelvey provided data on the current program rosters:
Cleat Kids(13);Temus/Archery(7); others(2 to 3 sporadically). T�following
suggestions were discussed:
• Early registration discounts
. Ads in Messenger and/or other area newspapers
In addition,Marty provided an update on the ball field mau►tenance
5. Parks and Trails Subcommittee- Karen reported on the Wind in the Pines project,
providing a written sumrnary of the subcommittees plan. Discussion items:
• • Article in the newspaper when the project is complete
• Local"Friends of the Parks" group
• Linking with other township trails

• Trail markers and signage
