6.b Public Comments_Conleyb.eklund From: Angie Conley < Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2022 7:39 PM To: b.eklund Cc: Melinda Maher, Conley, Thomas Subject: 16955 197th Street Dear Scandia City Planning Commission I am writing in support of the modest renovation and garage addition at 16955 197th Street, which is two cabins downstream from our property on 16963 197th Street. The proposed changes are consistent with many changes that have been approved over the last few years at the Berggren-Olk, Sunberg, Lynch/Saario, Holman, and Staub cabins. And much smaller than other approved additions along the river, such as the McGinley cabin and Bradley garage. The addition and small garage will not be visible from the river and are in keeping with the regulations that preserve and protect the river. Melinda and her family are good stewards of the river, environmentalists, and are often seen XC skiing in the winter in the park. It will be nice for her to use the cabin year-round. I've been in the Maher cabin and witnessed her (using the same car jacks we used at our former cabin) to help prop up the foundation on cinder blocks. It's a beautiful location that is in need of renovation for continued use. Thank you for your service to our community.
