7.b)2) Staff Report-Appointment to Agritourism/Event Use Advisory Committee C. � ,.;' .� �: � v a � SCANDIA Staff Report Date of Meeting: February 19, 2013 To: City Council From: Kristina Handt, City Administrator Re: Appointment to Agritourism/Event Use Advisory Committee Agenda Item#: 7.b)2) Background: The request from the Planning Commission to create an ad-hoc committee was detailed in the previous agenda item. If the Council elects to create the committee the next step would be to appoint members. Issue: Who should be appointed to the Agritourism/Event Use Advisory Committee? Proposal Details: If the Council approves the establishment of the committee,they should also determine how appointments will be made. Will the City advertise for applications or does the Council wish to appoint the individuals suggested by the Planning Commission? Also,the Council should discuss which Council members are willing to serve on the committee. Planning Commission appointments: Jan Hogle and Christine Maefsky City Council appointments: To be discussed by Council at the meeting Citizen appointments: Suggest by Planning Commission: Dennis Seefeldt, Kevin Nichols, and Bruce Swenson. Options: 1) Appoint any or all of the above at tonight's meeting 2) Advertise for applications for the citizen member positions
