8.f) Public Works Activity Report (January 2013) g.-�� Public Works Activity Report � � oi 3 � ,� ���-��� January 1 through January 31,� Tim Kieffer, Maintenance Superintendent �.7�1�N�� (651) 433-5223 t.kieffer@ci.scandia.mn.us Maintenance tasks Street: • Performed snow and ice control operations • Performed tree trimming operations • Removed wreaths from the Uptown street light poles • Removed fallen tree from the roadside Park&Recreation: • Installed bike route signs • Cleared snow off the hockey and pleasure rinks • Fixed hockey rink fence • Put up Vinterfest sign Sewer: • Read pump run times at all of the lift stations Water: • Read water meters for Uptown system Equipment and Building: • Performed monthly OSHA inspections • Replaced mirror in the Annex bathroom • Rearranged several rooms at the Community Center • Prepared Community Center floor for waxing • Removed holiday decorations from the Community Center • Remove snow and ice from the Community Center roof • Prepared walls to be painted at the Community Center • Replaced bafl valve on the emergency wash down system at the Fire Hall • Built rack for cutting edges • Installed first aid kits in the City's vehicles • Replaced four light bulbs at the Community Center • Installed two kick plates at the Community Center • Filled water softeners with salt at Public Works and Community Center Management tasks Street: • Met with engineer to go over 2013 road projects • Met with resident about tree trimming • Met with tree trimming contractors • Ordered salt � • Worked with Washington County to switch the wreaths to LED bulbs Park and Recreation: • Corresponded with DNR about the Goose Lake aerator Sewer: • Corresponded with EcoCheck about the backflow valve on the Anderson/Erickson system • Updated the City's Gopher State One polygon to include the Bliss and Anderson/Erickson systems • Obtained quotes for a new and rebuilt pump • Corresponded with Gammelgarden about their sewer flows • Signed staff up for on-site sewer schools • Worked on 201 connection ordinance • Corresponded with the County and Stantec about a new connection on the Bliss system • Worked with EcoCheck on Bliss lift station 4 Equipment and Building: • Met with Cintas to supply paper products and mats • Worked with contractor to unplug the holding tank at the Warming House • Ordered garage door openers for the Public Works shop • Scheduled a meeting between Force America and staff • Worked with Washington County on painting the Community Center • Scheduled contractor to haul away used oil • Obtained quotes for pest control • Met with electrical contractor to install outlets in the council chambers • Worked with contractor on the installation of the power washer • Had the oil changed and tires rotated on the Ford F-250(103-11) Miscellaneous: • Attended storm water seminar 2
